A total of 50 deaths have been reported in at least 12 states, including Colorado, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Wisconsin, NBC News reported.
Buffalo, in northeastern New York state, had the highest number of fatalities after more than a meter of snow fell over the weekend. According to reports, at least 14 people were killed till Monday evening alone.
